About EasiCyco – Innovative Bike Backpack Brand

Our Story

Our journey begins with Joe, a cyclist from southern China. In 2012, driven by his concern for environmental issues and love for wildlife, Joe left his job at a business corporation to join a century-old wildlife conservation organization headquartered in New York. He dedicated himself to environmental education and efforts to combat illegal wildlife trade. This life shift instilled in Joe a sense of mission and responsibility toward environmental protection, which also transformed his mode of travel—Joe sold his car and returned to his childhood mode of transportation, the bicycle. Surprisingly, cycling granted him more freedom, ease, and health than driving ever did.

2012, Joe supported British ecological experts in training Chinese law enforcement officers on identifying ivory. That same year, Joe resumed cycling and developed the first prototype of a revolutionary backpack.

However, cycling wasn't without its hitches—carrying a 15-inch laptop, a change of clothes, educational materials and equipment could significantly hinder the freedom and ease of cycling if shoulder-mounted. Adding a rear rack or basket could compromise the bicycle's sleek design. Joe didn't compromise. He believed there was a solution that wouldn't rely on shoulders nor a rear rack, and wouldn't affect the control of the bike. Rolling up his sleeves, Joe embarked on his "great" DIY project in his house. Thus, the first prototype of the EasiCyco backpack was born in 2012 and accompanied Joe through many years. A cherished memory from this journey captures a moment in 2016 when Joe and his family rode together along the Pearl River.

2016, Joe was riding his Dahon bike by the Pearl River in Guangzhou City, carrying: A. His lovely 2-year-old daughter Peilin in a bike seat. B. His wife's backpack on his shoulders. C. His own backpack attached to the bike—the precursor to EasiCyco. Years later, Joe reflected on this memory: "Despite carrying a lot of weight on my small-wheel bike, I didn't feel burdened since most of it was carried by the bike, allowing me to enjoy the scenery and the companionship of my family."

In 2020, Joe extended his environmental education efforts to children, where he met Joey and Peng, who were engaged in early education and later became partners in the EasiCyco project. United by shared dreams and values, they launched the EasiCyco project in 2023, recruiting like-minded young individuals to join the team.

EasiCyco aims to empower those adventurous cyclists who, even with heavy loads, wish to enjoy the beauty of cycling and take in the most splendid views along the way. Life, in its pursuit of freedom, is not necessarily about shedding all burdens but finding ease and freedom in carrying them forward. Meanwhile, we cyclists are proudly making valuable and admirable contributions to the health of Mother Earth together.

The Growth of the EasiCyco Backpack

The design of the EasiCyco backpack wasn't smooth sailing. It needed to meet three core criteria: exceptional load stability, a quick-release design for convenience, and no impact on bike handling, which includes preventing drops, shifts, wobbles, and rotations.

Many great people have realized this problem and are taking various actions to save Mother Earth. Using low-carbon transportation methods, such as cycling, is an excellent approach, which also makes people healthier and stronger.

But there will always be factors deterring people from choosing cycling, carrying heavy loads being one of them. EasiCyco offers an alternative solution. Our dream is to alleviate the burden concerns for more cyclists, encouraging them to choose cycling for their joy and health, and for our great Mother Earth.

Thus, our dream is to support more people to choose cycling as their everyday means of commuting.
